About the author and founder:

James E. Gervasio is a 27 year old, decorated U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant and combat veteran who served in both Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Upon completion of his 4 year active duty military service in September 2003, he went on to college at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. While there the former Sergeant Gervasio excelled in studies of Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies earning degrees in both areas. He has varied experiences in government, non-profit, and military sectors, as well as experience working with diplomats and Ambassadors to both the United States and the United Nations. He is currently a Masters/P.hd student of International Affairs and Diplomacy through the United Nations International School.

Mr. Gervasio has strong feelings for this country and worries about the direction in which it is heading. The goals of Informed We Stand® are stated below, they are his words:

"It's simple.  At InformedWeStand.com we understand that Americans of all races and religions generally have the best intentions for our fellow countrymen as well as the rest of the world.  We also understand that sometimes the driving forces behind political and judicial decisions are not justice or the best interests of the people, but the best interests of the biggest pocketbook.  The more people know about what goes on, the more they can influence negative policy decisions and government actions, and therefore influence public policy."

My Goals for Informed We Stand:

1) Inform enough of the public on generally important domestic and international issues so they will have the means and support to embark upon legal processes (non-violent) that may influence the politicians and their policies that the people want changed.

2) Give people who care to know more about any given current issue a way to quickly find repuatable research and information to further inform themselves in the form of our link library.

3) Give people a chance to vent their views on subjects and discuss them with others.

4) AND MOST IMPORTANT: To let the people know that they DO have an influence on what goes on in Washington D.C. and that change is possible from withn.

Here's the idea:

  • We are here to keep people informed, so they can get involved in how leadership runs our countries, and our world.  The real power belongs to the people, not the politicians.
  • Our Constitution is set up so that the politicians CANNOT IGNORE the collective will of their constituents
  • If we know what's going on in the world, we can STAND TOGETHER to change things we don't agree with by letting our leaders know that we care and that we want change.
  • This is the idea that America was founded upon.  We just have to exercise it and not fall prey to companies and politicians who count on our ignorance and lack of caring about what they do.

    About the Site:

Knowledge is power, Informed We Stand.

The purpose of this website is to give average the people the means to quickly find information on a variety of topics, mostly having to do with politics, religion, and international relations. The regular mainstream sources of this type of news may skew their stories in order to boost thier ratings. It is my opinion that the American people and other people of the world are better served by going straight to the sources of information. This way big business news outlets do not influence the opinions of people in negative ways by pandering or spinning thier news stories.

A World of Knowledge at Your Fingertips

The internet is a wealth of information literally at your fingertips. One can learn about anything they desire with the stroke of a few keys. There is a price to this great access however; sometimes the information you find may not be true, reputable, or correct. This is not as big a problem as it seems though, because by reading and seeing the information that is out there you can get a better idea of any subject. And at the very least understand that the information available on a given subject is widely varied and/or in contention.
